Bad Weather and Market Closures
We understand it’s disappointing if you visit us and find that Acton Market is closed.
We keep Acton market open from Wednesday to Thursday 10am-5pm and Saturday 10 am- 4 pm. However there are days when its not possibly to keep the market open. Here are two reasons why you would not find us open:
- Weather
On occasion bad weather can cause us to close Acton market for heath and safety reasons. We take the utmost caution and seriously consider the potential dangers that high winds and bad weather could cause for both stall owners and the public.
When the wind speed exceeds our predetermined, tolerable levels it creates a risk that this bad weather can cause a potential risk of stalls being knocked by wind, as well as any stray debris or other elements of nature that may threaten pedestrians. In this situation you will find the
Market closed.
Where possible we will give you fair warning but as weather is often unpredictable sometimes we might take the decision to not open on the morning of the market. We are sure you all appreciate that we don’t want to endanger our traders or customers or Acton residents passing through the market . - Late December to Early January (Christmas & New year)
The Market closes from the last trading day before Christmas and reopens on the 3rd week of January to allow our traders a well deserved rest for the coldest weeks of the year.
